The death of backpacking?

I believe that our 21st century civilization will miss the radical encounter with the non-human: the visceral experience of days in wilderness alone, in vast and complex natural systems not controlled by humans, not arranged entirely for human convenience, not plagued by human noise. This matters more than ever at a time when our natural systems, on a planetary scale, appear to be in full rebellion against human convenience.

I want to be out in the wilderness, seeing just how much strength and grit I am capable of. What do you want to do?

  1. I want to consistently have a multiple trips planned(Denver this Friday, Scuba certify in Keys this April, need to plan west trip!) create something beautiful I am proud of and have endless amounts of laughter. 🙂
