The Stowe Recreation Path is a 5.3 mile paved path that winds throughout Stowe, sometimes in parks or fields, sometimes behind town shops or restaurants. I decided to go park at one end after work and ride the length of the path and back to check it out. It is a lovely trail, and not nearly as crowded as I expected for such an accessible path.
There are ten bridges that take you across the West Branch of the Little River as you wind back and forth through the valley on this mellow grade. Some of the crossings looked like good swimming spots too.
There are multiple picnic areas along the way, as well as other pedestrian paths leading off the main path.
Many of the town businesses that butt up against the path have signs and walkways leading off of it. It seems like a great way to get around town and kind of makes me want to live there.
I will definitely be back to ride or walk this path again!
