I made good time into Dalton for lunch and stopped at Tom Levardi’s house for a while to talk to other hikers and charge my phone. He’s a local that allows hikers to camp out in his yard as he lives right on the trail’s road walk to town. I also got to meet SoulFlute’s hiking cat, Hobbs, there. I stopped in town at Angelina’s for a hoagie and ended up eating the whole thing instead of packing half out.

Back on the trail and I made it into Cheshire after 18.3 miles. I love the towns that the trail goes right through as it makes everything move convenient. Here the St. Mary of the Assumption Church lets hikers stay in some of their classrooms so I checked in there and got cleaned up. I was still full from my late lunch so I skipped getting pizza for dinner and just snacked instead.
