It was a little chillier than it has been this morning, but we were camped about a thousand feet higher than recently too. I went by Obsidian Falls very early and walked over pieces of obsidian for about a mile.
The sun took a while to make it over the ridge but it was very warm once it did. I walked half through woods today, and half through open meadows.
There wasn’t much elevation gain today (only about 3000′), and there was very limited lava rock, so I was able to do 27.7 miles with less than a mile of it in the dark. I still took the same number and length of breaks too. We are camped at Dumbbell Lake.
Obsidian. Sounds like a really neat area. 🙂
