I had tried to see The Way when it was in theaters and missed it so I was excited to finally watch it now. This movie is about a different trail, El Camino de Santiago, but it was mainly about the reasons people were on the trail, which I think is universal to any long distance hike. It was interesting to see all the characters’ professed reasons for hiking and how they contrasted with their actual reasons for hiking. The differences between all the hikers and how they came together to support each other any way was very inspiring. You could tell they got a lot out of it by the end, although maybe not quite what they were looking for at the beginning.
