I enjoyed the morning, having breakfast at the restaurant before I packed up, and then having lunch before leaving. The same couple who gave us a ride in yesterday showed up and gave us a ride back to the trail in early afternoon.
I climbed back up to the ridge from the road and saw more storms in the distance. They seemed to be moving the same direction I was so I hoped they’d stay ahead, but it was not to be.
I started getting rained and hailed on a couple of miles before camp, with some thunder and lightning thrown in too. It stopped just before I reached the campsite, but the ground was now covered in hail. I found a clear spot to set up my tent and went to bed early. 11 miles today.
