We caught the first shuttle out of town this morning, and it stopped at the bakery, of course. I had it in my head that I wanted to buy an entire quiche, but fortunately, they could only fit half of a quiche in a disposable pie pan. So I bought half of a quiche, which was plenty. I also got a pastry for later.
The shuttle dropped us back off at the ranger station, and not a single hiker left for at least half an hour. It was sunny and clear, but cold. Once I got going, I warmed up quite nicely, and was even hot in the afternoon. But once the sun went down again, the chill came back quickly.
We did 19.6 miles to the Rainy Pass trailhead to camp.
I made quiche Lorraine last night. 🙂 I will have to make you some when you get home.
