The day started out overcast and chilly, just like yesterday, but the sun finally burned off most of the clouds while I was climbing Nesuntabunt Mountain this morning. I sat at an overlook at the top for a while, hoping for a view of Katahdin, but the clouds around that were staying. The day warmed up quickly from there.

Today was a 26 mile day, and although I felt great after yesterday’s big miles, I started to get a little foot sore half way through today. The elevation profile was a little bumpier today and there were almost no clear sections of trail. It was all roots and rocks, all the time.

Just at sunset, I made it up to Rainbow Ledges and finally saw Katahdin from there. It’s huge. Hard to believe I’m almost there!

I made it down to the road and into our campsites at Abol Bridge Campground, cooked dinner, and crashed.

2 days and 15.1 miles to go!
