Nine women made it out to Ladies That Paddle tonight, this time on Colchester Pond.  Even smaller than Shelburne Pond, it was still definitely worth a visit, a great spot for a relaxing paddle.  (Or an after-work hike: there is a 3-mile trail circling the pond.)

I thought it was pretty cool when a hot air balloon came slowly flying by us.  It dipped very close to the pond at one end before going back up and over the trees instead.

But then we ran into a pair of loons, which was way cooler.  They didn’t seem to be making much effort to paddle away and neither did we.  We hung out watching each other for quite a while.

We went into the marshy area at the southern end of the pond just a little bit before heading back to the boat launch.

Another beautiful evening!
